APEC in Lima:
SOM1, Day 4

On the fourth day of the First Senior Officials’ Meeting of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) and related events, delegates from different member economies participated in technical meetings. They discussed issues related to customs regimes, health and intellectual property, among others.

The Vice-Minister of Health Benefits and Insurance, Ciro Mestas, said that public health indicators will improve in the short and medium term, since access to medical supplies will be facilitated at lower costs, because of the Chancay Port project that is about to be launched.

In turn, the Executive President of Indecopi, Karin Cáceres, took part in a workshop titled “Regulatory and competition challenges in digital markets”, which brought together prestigious international speakers for a better understanding of the regulation of digital markets in APEC member economies.
