The Lima Convention Center hosted the delegations of the 21 member economies of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Forum (APEC) for the thirteenth consecutive day on the occasion of the First Senior Officials’ Meeting (SOM 1) and related events.

The First Meeting of Senior Officials held on this date gathered the SOs of the 21 APEC economies to discuss and define the scope of the topics discussed on this date.

The main issues addressed included food security, digital connectivity, intellectual property, customs regimes, and trade formality, all of which are essential to pave the way towards Leaders’ Week in November.

The November reunion will seek to reach transcendental consensus to implement APEC’s relevant plans and projects.

Before attending the plenary meeting, the delegates participated in the Senior Officials’ Retreat at the Metropolitan Municipality of Lima.
